DESIGN AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
Our
craft gallery reflects the high quality of today’s
British craft work. Whether you are looking for jewellery,
glasswork or pottery, woodturning or original
artwork our highly experienced makers have something for
you.
Many of our makers are members of
the Oxfordshire
Craft Guild, to which admission is by
selection only.
Each
piece on display has been individually designed and made.
However, for that special occasion and unique gift our craftspeople
are happy to accept commissions. We look forward to showing
you our work.
CERAMICS
Our potter exhibit her skills in work which is both
functional and beautiful. From a small bowl or vase to a
mug or a jug, our ceramicist can provide it!
WOODTURNING
Native British woods and exotic species go into our bowls,
platters, tealight holders and bottle stoppers. So far as possible, our
maker
ensures that only sustainable managed timber is used in his
work.
TEXTILES
Scarves,
ties, cushions and bags are hand decorated and made from felt, silk and
knitting. Machine stitch work is used to create landscapes and
abstract pictures and jewellery.
GLASSWARE
Beautiful things made from glass include decorative dishes , diachroic glass jewellery and items made using recycled bottles.
PAINTINGS AND GREETINGS CARDS
Choose
from a selection of original paintings, prints and greetings
cards. Many are on an Oxford theme and show the well-known and
much-loved sights of Oxford and the Colleges. We also have
artists using their skills to decorate small wooden items and ceramics
with cute animals and floral themes..
JEWELLERY
A good choice of silver, enamel, gems, beadwork and other
original pieces make it difficult to decide just which item
to buy! With prices starting from around £7
there are plenty of affordable and individual pieces to
choose from
